If you know me, then you know I’m a little obsessed with popsicles. We eat them year-round at my house! I like to pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to get them nice and soft. It’s my all-time favorite treat. The only problem is, most popsicles are filled with so many additives and strained sweeteners that I don’t finger unconfined well-nigh eating them! If you make them at home, you know exactly what’s going into them. No upper fructose corn syrup here! Plus, I think they taste much better!

The unconfined thing well-nigh making homemade popsicles is that you can mix and match whatever flavors you want! Today I’m using strawberry, mango, and pineapple, but you can switch these out for all of your favorite fruits! I add a little coconut milk and honey to the fruit puree to make it linty and sweet, then from there, it’s off to the freezer until they’re ready to be enjoyed! These healthy homemade popsicles are bursting with savor and the perfect, easy snack for the kids. Your family is going to love them!

Homemade Fruit Popsicle Ingredients

Simple ingredients are what make a good popsicle! This is what I used to make mine. I’ve widow a few substitutions, and you can find increasingly ideas and ways to customize them below! If you’re looking for measurements, they can all be found in the recipe vellum at the end of the post.

  • Coconut Milk: You can omit this if you want your popsicles to be increasingly tart and fruity, but I love the creaminess that coconut milk adds! The healthy fats in coconut milk moreover help to alimony your popsicles soft rather than icy. You can moreover use plain yogurt to unzip a similar effect.
  • Frozen Fruit: I used frozen strawberries, mangos, and pineapple. Any frozen fruit will work here! Raspberries, peaches, watermelon, and blueberries are other succulent options. Just make sure any fruit you use is slightly thawed so it blends easily.
  • Sweetener: I like to use natural sweeteners for my popsicles! Honey, maple syrup, agave, and composite comic are all tasty options for making your popsicles sweeter.

How to Make Popsicles at Home

Making homemade popsicles is so easy! They only take a few minutes to prepare. Really, the hardest part is waiting for them to freeze. I love remembering that I have some ready to eat in the freezer on hot summer days. They’re so refreshing, nothing compares! (Well, maybe this watermelon agua fresca.)

  1. Blend Fruit: In a high-powered blender, add the slightly thawed fruit chunks, coconut milk, and honey.
  2. Add Coconut Milk to Adjust Consistency: Blend until smooth. Add increasingly coconut milk if needed to help blend.
  3. Add Sweetener: Taste and add spare honey if needed. Sweetness level depends on personal preference. It moreover depends how sweet the frozen fruit was to uncork with.
  4. Transfer to Molds, Freeze: Pour the mixture into the popsicle molds dividing them evenly. Insert the popsicle sticks and freeze for 3-4 hours or until completely firm.
  5. Release and Serve: Carefully release the popsicle from the molds. You may need to hold your warm hand on the mold to help release the popsicle. Running tomfool water on the mold will help as well, just be shielding not to get water on the popsicle.

Tips for Making Homemade Popsicles

These are a few tips and variegated savor combinations to try out with your next tuft of homemade fruit popsicles! Be sure to save one for yourself- they’re so refreshing, they never last long at my house. Good thing they only take 3 ingredients to make! Making a second batch is a cinch!

  • Add Herbs: One simple way to add a uplift of savor to your popsicles is to tousle fresh herbs into your fruit puree! Basil and mint are my go-tos! Edible flowers like lavender, hibiscus, and rose add nice savor as well. Just be sure to add a little as you go, the savor can hands wilt overpowering.
  • Add Vegetables: If your kids are anything like mine, it’s nonflexible to get them to eat vegetables. Good news – you can sneak veggies into your popsicles and they’ll never know! Spinach and carrots are some of my favorites to add in.
  • Lemonade Popsicles: For popsicles that are a little increasingly unexceptionable and tart, try blending your fruit purees with lemonade!
  • Use Wooden Popsicle Sticks: I like using wooden popsicle sticks instead of the plastic sticks that come with the molds for easy cleanup. This is moreover unconfined for taking your popsicles on the go.

How Long Do Homemade Popsicles Last?

As long as your homemade popsicles are in a sealed freezer bag or airtight container, they should stay good for up to a month in the freezer!
