7 Fashionable Head Scarf Ideas for Every Occasion
1. The Traditional Grace
To create a triangle, fold a square scarf in half diagonally; it is not necessary for the edges to line up precisely. Position the scarf on your head so that the triangle's point hangs down the back of your head and the center of the folded edge rests an inch or two beyond your hairline. The ends should be tied beneath your chin. You can choose whether Princess Grace tied the scarf loosely or knotted it under her chin. As Princess Grace frequently did, tuck the front and rear of your coat inside the collar or let the ends hang down in the front.
2. The Stylish Back Tie
As before, tie the ends under your chin, but instead of tying them there, cross them there and then bring them back to the nape of your neck. You can either tuck the ends inside your coat collar or tie a knot and let fashionable head scarf styles.

3. The Headband for Preppy
Make sure the ends of the scarf line up when you fold it diagonally into a triangle. The triangle's point should be folded into the middle, with two inches or so separating it from the scarf's straight folded edge. Fold until you get a single, long strip that is roughly three inches broad, working from left to right. Make sure the ends of the strip hang properly by positioning it a few inches behind your hairline. After that, let the ends dangle down your back and knot them at the nape of your neck, beneath your hair. Tie the ends of the scarf at the back of your head, over your hair, rather than at your neck, under your hair, for a more 1970s style. Push the front of the scarf forward so it rests on your forehead. To frame your face, feel free to pluck out a few hairs in the front.
4. The Headband with Knots
Add a knot to the front of the prep headband for a more contemporary look: Continue as directed above, but stop when you have folded the scarf into a strip the size of a headband. At that time, tie a knot in the middle of the scarf, leaving a few inches of hair visible, and position the knot's smooth side in the middle of your hairline. Tie the scarf in a double knot at the nape of your neck, beneath the length of your hair, after making sure the ends are even.
5. The Braid of Scarves
Place the scarf aside on a level surface after folding it into the shape of a headband (see above). The top part of your hair, above your ears, should then be pulled back and fastened at the lower-middle rear of your head with an elastic. Encircle the elastic with the center of the headband scarf. Divide the remainder of your hair into two side parts, then begin braiding loosely such that the middle section of hair is braided with the scarf. After securing the braid with an elastic, fluff the scarf's ends. Use your fingers to slightly ruffle the braid for a more relaxed style.
6. The Ponytail Low
Secure your hair with an elastic band after pulling it back into a low ponytail. To secure the scarf in place, fold it into the shape of a headband and tie it in a double knot around the ponytail's base. On either side of your ponytail, let the ends dangle down.
7. The Bandana in Boho
Long hair and a wide scarf go well with this style. To create a triangle, fold the scarf in half diagonally. Place the long, folded edge across your forehead at eyebrow height after grabbing both ends. Don't worry if there is a lot of fabric; it just adds to the cool element. Reach back and tie the ends in a double knot on the back of your head. The "triangle" will dangle below the knot. Pull the scarf's front up just enough to cover your eyebrows.
